Academic Expectations and Grade Requirements
Boston University expects students to approach their coursework with professionalism and integrity. Instructors evaluate students to high standards, and students must earn a minimum grade of C (2.0 or 73) in each module and an overall minimum grade of B- (2.7 or 80) to earn a certificate.

Transcripts
All BU Center for Professional Education programs are noncredit, and only unofficial transcripts are issued. Most students can access their academic history and download transcripts directly from MyCPE using these instructions.
BU Professional Fundraising Program
Certificates are mailed two to three weeks after course completion, along with the CFRE continuing education point tracker.
Withdrawal Policy, Transfers, and Fees
- Withdraw before course start: Full refund, minus a non-refundable cancellation fee of up to $300.
- Withdraw by the fifteenth day of the course: 50% refund, minus a non-refundable fee of up to $300.
- Withdraw after fifteen days: No refund.
Students who withdraw after the fifteenth day will not be eligible for a refund. Credit card payment refunds must be credited to the same credit card. You will not be issued a transcript when withdrawing a class or program. A “W” grade will be noted for withdrawing from the course(s) after the fifteenth class date.
Please note that ceasing to log into the online program or notifying your instructor that you are withdrawing does not constitute an official withdrawal.
A one-time transfer is allowed under these conditions:
- Request transfer within fifteen business days.
- The transfer must be to another term within one year.
- A transfer fee of $200 to $300 will apply.

State Authorization and Distance Education
Boston University participates in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA), which allows the university to offer distance education programs in other SARA member states.
