What is Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification?

The Certified Fund Raising Executive® designation is an internationally recognized credential that attests to your knowledge, skill, and achievements as a fundraising professional based on current and valid practice-based standards.

Will this program prepare me for CFRE certification?

Boston University’s Professional Fundraising Program is approved by CFRE International to award continuing education points and serves as excellent preparation for the CFRE examination. View the detailed application requirements for initial certification here.

How many points can I earn toward my education requirement with this program?

Full participation in Boston University’s Professional Fundraising Program entitles you to 84 points in Category 1.B—Education of the CFRE International application for initial certification and/or recertification.

Note: All students who successfully complete the Professional Fundraising course will receive a tracking form certifying points earned for initial certification and/or recertification. Tracking forms will be delivered approximately two weeks after the course concludes.
